During a recent interview with DongA Daily, Dr. Moon spoke candidly of how he and his wife, Mrs. Jun Sook Moon, have raised their  children.

“We have tried to challenge our children to grow up to be responsible and accountable young men and women in front of God and humanity.

There are many times when we have reminded our children that there are no shortcuts to success in life. It is paved with sincerity, hard work and a good attitude of humility and gratitude.

We have tried to instill in them the love for God, humanity, and creation that my father taught me.“

Their children volunteer every summer as soon as they enter middle school in countries around the world.  Through serving the needs of the less fortunate of the world, Dr. Moon and Mrs. Moon want their children to “directly experience the joy of serving others”

In addition, their children spend one month out of the year directly experiencing and interacting with nature. These encounters with the majesty of creation to instill a deep love of nature and a desire to be “responsible stewards of nature”.
